The revenue engine keeps revving
SoundHound is still in that awkward phase where the sales line looks great but the profit line is playing hard to get. In Q2, revenue jumped 45% year over year to a record $61.9 million, which is the kind of number that makes growth investors lean in a little closer.
The guideposts got bumped
The company also told the market to expect 2026 revenue of $230 million to $260 million. That’s not exactly a victory lap — SoundHound still hasn’t turned a profit — but it does show management thinks the business is scaling faster than the old playbook suggested.
And there’s a deal on the table
One more wrinkle: LivePerson shareholders approved their company’s sale to SoundHound on Sept. That matters because acquisitions can add customers, tech, and a fresh batch of integration headaches all at once. Think of it like buying a bigger kitchen before you’ve perfected the meal prep.
Big picture
For now, SoundHound is still the classic “growth first, profits later” story. If it can keep the revenue hockey stick pointed up while not turning into a cash bonfire, investors will keep giving it the side-eye — in a good way.
