Bitcoin, but make it sneakers
Strategy took its Bitcoin brand for a spin with a limited-edition sneaker drop inspired by Nike’s Air Jordan 1, and the shoes sold out. The catch? You could pay with cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay — but not Bitcoin. Very on-brand, very 2026.
The merch moment
The kicks went for $250 a pop and leaned hard into the company’s orange-and-leather Bitcoin aesthetic. It’s part merch, part marketing stunt, part “yes, we know this is a little ridiculous.”
The real investor nugget
The sneaker launch wasn’t the only headline. Strategy also said it didn’t buy any Bitcoin last week, leaving its stash unchanged at 845,050 BTC. Instead, it repurchased 1.81 million STRC shares for $176.3 million using dollar reserves.
That matters because Strategy’s whole identity is wrapped around Bitcoin accumulation. So when the company pauses buying and spends cash elsewhere, investors notice. Big picture: the sneakers are fun; the capital allocation signal is the part that can actually move the stock.
