A clean sweep for VOXZOGO
BioMarin Pharmaceutical says its Phase 3 study of VOXZOGO (vosoritide) in children with hypochondroplasia came back with the good stuff: the trial hit its primary endpoint and all secondary efficacy endpoints. In biotech land, that’s basically the equivalent of acing the final and the extra credit. Nice work if you can get it.
Why investors should care
VOXZOGO is already one of BioMarin’s key growth engines, so positive data here matters for a few reasons:
- It could strengthen the drug’s label and commercial story
- It gives BioMarin another clinical/data catalyst to point to instead of living and dying by the quarterly numbers game
- It may help expand the market opportunity beyond the current patient base, which is exactly what growth investors want to hear
The bigger picture
For BMRN, this is the kind of update that can make the stock feel a little less like a biotech coin flip and a little more like a real operating business. Of course, the market will still want to see how this translates into approvals, uptake, and revenue. But for now, BioMarin just handed investors a reason to unclench.
Big picture: in biotech, positive Phase 3 data is the closest thing to a mic drop.
