Bitcoin, but make it a business model
Strive is back in the crypto aisle. The company said it bought $109 million in bitcoin, adding more of the digital stuff to its treasury strategy while also pushing its preferred stock toward a $1 billion target.
For investors, that’s a pretty loud signal: this isn’t just dabbling. It’s leaning harder into a balance-sheet strategy that ties the stock to bitcoin’s mood swings, which means every crypto rally or stumble can show up in ASST shares like an uninvited guest.
The financing angle matters too
The preferred stock push is the other shoe here. If Strive can raise capital at scale, it gives the company more dry powder to keep buying bitcoin — but it also adds another layer of complexity for common shareholders trying to figure out what exactly they own besides volatility.
Big picture
This is the classic “we’re not just a company, we’re a crypto thesis” move. If bitcoin keeps running, the strategy can look genius. If it doesn't, well, the stock may end up acting less like an operating company and more like a very caffeinated bitcoin proxy.
