SAP gets a new AI chatbot buddy
Vigience says it has launched Vigience MCP for SAP, a product built to let AI agents pull live data from SAP and post complex transactions back into the system. In plain English: it’s trying to make SAP talk to AI agents without making your finance team babysit every step.
That matters because SAP is the beating heart of a lot of enterprise operations. If Vigience’s tool actually makes workflows faster, cleaner, and less button-mashy, it could make SAP stickier with customers already trying to bolt AI onto old-school enterprise software.
Why investors should care
This isn’t some giant earnings bombshell or blockbuster acquisition. But it is another sign that the enterprise software world is racing to make legacy systems AI-native. That’s good for companies that can ride the automation wave — and a reminder that the firms owning the plumbing of business operations still get to charge rent.
- AI agents can read live SAP data
- They can also post complex transactions, which is the juicy part
- The real question: does this become a useful workflow layer, or just another shiny demo?
Big picture
If businesses really start trusting AI agents with enterprise workflows, the winners won’t just be the AI model makers. They’ll also be the companies that own the systems of record — and SAP is firmly in that camp.
