Meta joins the dividend club — again
Meta Platforms said its board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.525 per share on Class A and Class B stock. If you own the shares, the key date to circle is September 21st, when the stock will trade ex-dividend. The cash lands on September 28th.
Why investors should care
This isn’t a giant payout that’s going to change your retirement plan overnight. But it does remind you that Meta is still throwing off enough cash to send some back to shareholders while also funding the company’s very expensive AI ambitions.
That’s the balancing act here: keep the growth story alive, keep the AI war chest stocked, and still make the stock a little friendlier to income-oriented investors. Not bad for a company that once felt like it was allergic to the idea of dividends.
Big picture
For investors, the dividend is less about the immediate cash and more about what it says underneath the hood: Meta’s business is mature enough to reward shareholders, but still aggressive enough to keep spending like it’s trying to win the next internet era.
