The FDA countdown is on
Inovio Pharmaceuticals says its biologics license application for INO-3107 is still under review at the FDA, and the market’s favorite kind of suspense is now in full swing: a hard deadline. The PDUFA date is Oct. 30, so this is basically the biotech version of waiting for your name to be called at the DMV, except with way more money on the line.
Why investors care
INO-3107 is an investigational DNA medicine for recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, or RRP, a rare disease that can be a real drag on patients’ airways and quality of life. If the FDA clears it, Inovio gets a shot at turning a science project into a real commercial product. If not, the stock could get slapped with another reminder that biotech is not for the faint of heart.
The setup
A few things matter here:
- The FDA review is still active, so this isn’t old news dusted off for clicks.
- The PDUFA date is the next obvious catalyst, and biotech traders live for these calendar moments.
- Inovio doesn’t need a miracle here — just a clean regulatory outcome would be enough to change the story.
Big picture: this is one of those binary biotech moments where the calendar does a lot of the heavy lifting. If you own the stock, you’re basically betting on the FDA’s next move.
