Texas is now part of the pitch
Joby Aviation is showing off more than renderings and promise-laden PowerPoints. The company has started air taxi flights in Texas, another visible step in its long march toward FAA certification.
That matters because eVTOL stocks live and die on one question: can they prove the thing actually works, safely, in the real world? Every flight demo is basically Joby saying, “Yes, we’re still here, and no, this isn’t just a sci-fi hobby.”
Why investors care
If certification gets closer, so does the possibility of revenue. And in this corner of the market, proof-of-life milestones can move the stock faster than a spreadsheet full of future TAM.
What to watch next:
- more certification progress from the FAA
- additional flight demos or route expansions
- whether retail enthusiasm starts to stick instead of just popping the stock for a day
Big picture
Joby still has to turn aviation dreams into a business, which is a very different beast. But every new flight makes the story feel a little less like a concept car and a little more like an actual vehicle.
