Another way to stay in the AI loop
Nvidia may be trying to do more than sell chips to the AI boom — it may want a seat at the table, too. According to Reuters, the chip giant is in talks to invest in Anthropic’s landmark IPO as an anchor investor, which is a fancy way of saying it could show up early and help grease the wheels.
Why this matters
If you’re holding NVDA, this is the kind of deal that says, “We’re not just a vendor, we’re part of the ecosystem.” Nvidia already powers plenty of AI infrastructure; putting money into an IPO-bound model company would deepen that relationship and give it even more skin in the AI game.
The bigger AI chessboard
This isn’t about one tiny side quest. It’s about Nvidia keeping close ties to the companies building the software that runs on its hardware. That can be good for future demand, good for strategic influence, and very on-brand for a company that seems determined to be present at every AI dinner party.
Big picture: if Nvidia really becomes an anchor investor, it’s less “buying a startup” and more “buying a better view of the future.”
