Another brick in the backlog wall
V2X, the defense contractor behind ticker VVX, said it won a position on a $46 million delivery order supporting the Air Force’s Long Range Standoff cruise missile program for the B-52 Stratofortress.
That’s a mouthful, sure. But in plain English, it means V2X is getting pulled deeper into a long-running military program that could mean recurring work, more visibility, and a little more heft in the company’s backlog. For defense names, that backlog is basically the company’s future to-do list — and investors like it when the list gets longer.
Why you should care
A single delivery order isn’t the same thing as a giant multiyear megadeal, but it still matters because it signals V2X is in the mix on important Air Force work. That can help support the narrative that the company is winning contracts in the right corners of the defense budget.
Big picture
Defense contractors live and die by contract flow, and today’s announcement is another small but useful win. Not flashy, but in this business, boring can be beautiful.
