Zoom’s next act: from meetings to money
Zoom Communications is not content being the app you grudgingly open for Monday standups. It’s now leaning into an AI-powered “revenue OS,” stitching together buyer intelligence, customer conversations, and deal execution into one place.
What changed?
The company debuted Common Room availability through Zoom and rolled out new Zoom Revenue Accelerator features, including Engage and Forecast. The pitch is simple: if Zoom already sits in the middle of your customer conversations, why not use that data to help sales teams spot deals, predict outcomes, and chase revenue with a little more Jedi magic?
Why investors should care
This matters because it nudges Zoom further up the software stack. Instead of living and dying by the fate of video meetings, Zoom is trying to own more of the workflow that surrounds sales and revenue teams — a much stickier, potentially more profitable place to be.
If the product lands, it could help Zoom deepen customer relationships and open up another lane for recurring software revenue. If it flops, well, it’s another reminder that turning a household name into a must-have enterprise platform is harder than putting “AI” on the label.
Big picture: Zoom is trying to transform from the place where meetings happen into the place where deals get made.
