Splunk just got an AI glow-up
Cisco says customers can now run, defend, and observe AI where their machine data already lives — which is a very enterprise way of saying: less juggling, more tracking. The headline move is a fresh batch of Splunk AI features for on-premises customers, bundled into the new Cisco AI POD for Splunk.
Why NVIDIA is in the mix
This isn’t Cisco going solo. The company is extending its partnership with NVIDIA to bring agentic AI to Splunk on-premises customers, plugging Splunk deeper into the broader Cisco Secure AI Factory with NVIDIA. That gives Cisco a louder pitch in the crowded “we do AI too” arena, except this one comes with governance and security, not just shiny demos.
The money angle hiding in the plumbing
Cisco also introduced a new Tokenomics solution in Splunk Agent Observability. In plain English: it tracks AI spending and coding agent usage in real time, so companies can connect AI adoption to business value instead of just burning cash and hoping for the best.
That matters because enterprise AI buyers are getting picky. If Cisco can help customers prove ROI — and keep an eye on costs while they do it — Splunk becomes less of a dashboard and more of a control room.
Big picture: this is Cisco trying to make Splunk the place where enterprise AI gets measured, managed, and maybe even justified to the finance team.
