Dividend duty, done again
Colgate-Palmolive is back with its usual rhythm: the board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.53 per common share. If you own the stock, that means another check is coming your way on November 13th, as long as you’re on the books by October 20th.
Why investors should care
This isn’t flashy, but that’s kind of the point. Dividend announcements tell you a company’s cash engine is still humming, and Colgate has been paying uninterrupted dividends since 1895 — basically since dinosaurs were still getting their acts together.
For income investors, this is the boring-but-beautiful part of the story:
- The payout stays steady at $0.53 a share
- The timing is predictable
- The company is signaling confidence in its cash flow
Big picture
Colgate isn’t trying to be a rocket ship. It’s trying to be a reliable compounding machine, powered by toothpaste, soap, and all the unglamorous stuff people keep buying no matter what the economy’s doing. And sometimes, that’s exactly the kind of stock you want in the drawer.
