AbbVie’s next swing
AbbVie is teeing up a Phase 3 presentation for etentamig, its multiple myeloma asset, at the 2026 International Myeloma Society meeting. The company also plans to roll out data from a broader myeloma portfolio, which is corporate-speak for: “We’ve got more than one horse in this race.”
Why the Street cares
With biotech, the stock reaction usually hinges on one thing: does the data make the medicine look like a future revenue machine, or just another pretty PowerPoint? Phase 3 readouts matter because they can support regulatory filings, partnership chatter, or just improve the odds that investors stop squinting at the pipeline.
The bigger picture
AbbVie has been trying to broaden beyond its old faithful franchises, so every meaningful oncology update is a chance to show the market it’s not a one-trick pony with a very expensive haircut. If etentamig’s data land well, that’s upside optionality. If they don’t, well, clinical trial season is undefeated.
Big picture: this is the kind of pipeline update that can quietly matter a lot, especially in a market that loves a good late-stage data story when the numbers cooperate.
