The setup
Cardinal Health is basically telling Wall Street: don’t get too comfy, because fiscal 2027 is supposed to look a lot like fiscal 2026 — only with the growth engine still humming.
CEO Jason Hollar said the company expects broad operating momentum to carry forward, with all five operating segments positioned to contribute. Translation: this isn’t one cute quarter; management is pitching a whole-system story.
Why investors are paying attention
The big number here is 13%–15% EPS growth for fiscal 2027. That’s the kind of target that makes value investors lean forward and growth investors stop pretending they don’t own healthcare stocks.
If Cardinal can keep specialty momentum building while the rest of the business stays healthy, the market may keep giving it credit for consistency — and consistency, in this market, is basically a superpower.
The catch
Of course, targets are easy on a conference call. The hard part is delivering when every segment has to pull its weight and the bar is already pretty high.
So yes, Cardinal is signaling confidence. But the real test is whether it can turn “broad operating momentum” into something more durable than earnings-day poetry.
Big picture: Cardinal Health is trying to prove its growth story isn’t a one-season cameo — it’s a full series renewal.
