New deal, same old banker grind
Bank of America is feeding its internal and client-facing payments stack a fresh dose of AI. The bank launched the AskGPS Intelligence Hub for Global Payments Solutions employees and also rolled out Payments Insights on CashPro, its corporate cash-management platform.
What’s actually new?
AskGPS now combines client, account, and relationship data so employees can walk into treasury discussions less like they’re winging it at trivia night and more like they’ve actually done the homework. The new hub adds:
- AI-powered Treasury Management Reviews
- Digital account schematics
- Enhanced relationship insights
CashPro got its own upgrade too. Payments Insights will help corporate and commercial clients understand:
- Payment efficiency
- Cross-border flows
- Working-capital performance
Why investors should care
This isn’t the kind of AI splashy enough to make your jaw drop, but it’s the kind that quietly makes a giant bank more useful. BofA says CashPro processed 213 million payments in the first half of 2026, up 10% year over year, which is a nice reminder that when the platform gets better, the usage can get very sticky.
The bigger story: banks are racing to turn AI from buzzword soup into something that actually saves time, deepens client relationships, and nudges customers toward using more of the platform. If BofA can keep corporate treasurers glued to CashPro, that’s the sort of boring-but-beautiful win Wall Street likes.
Big picture
No one is buying Bank of America for the thrill ride. But if AI helps it tighten operations and lock in clients, that’s a pretty solid way to make the old banking machine feel a little less old.
