More juice at Polaris Forge 1
Applied Digital is still in the unglamorous-but-important phase of the AI boom: turning dirt, steel, and electrical capacity into something customers can actually use. The company said it completed three additional 25 MW data halls at Polaris Forge 1, adding 75 MW and pushing the site’s fully operational capacity to 250 MW.
That may not sound as sexy as a chatbot demo, but for a data-center player, power is the whole game. No power, no servers. No servers, no AI workloads. And no AI workloads? That giant backlog everyone loves to cite starts looking a lot less magical.
Why investors should care
This is basically Applied Digital saying, “We’re not just talking about the future — we’re wiring it up.” More capacity online can support more contracts, more utilization, and, eventually, more cash flow. In a market that’s been obsessed with AI infrastructure names, progress like this tends to matter because it shows execution, not just ambition.
The bigger picture
If you’re watching APLD, the key question is whether the company can keep converting capacity into revenue without tripping over delays, cost overruns, or the usual data-center headaches. Today’s update is a step in the right direction.
Big picture: in AI infrastructure, the winners are often the ones who can get electrons to the servers fastest.
