Same old Saylor, different company
Strive CEO Matt Cole dropped a Sunday X post that looked a lot like the Michael Saylor school of corporate Bitcoin theater: show the stack, hint at more buying, let the market do the rest. He shared a chart showing Strive holding 27,462 BTC, worth about $2.37 billion, and wrote, “Strive for Amplified Bitcoin.”
Why investors are paying attention
That’s not just a flex. Strive has been pitching itself as a leveraged Bitcoin exposure vehicle funded through preferred equity, which means the stock is basically becoming a proxy for crypto mood swings. If Bitcoin keeps climbing, ASST can get a tailwind. If Bitcoin sneezes, shareholders may want a tissue.
- Strive is now the sixth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder, according to the post.
- The company’s structure is designed to amplify Bitcoin exposure through common stock.
- Shares popped in premarket trading after the hint, while BTC itself was also higher.
The Saylor echo chamber
The comparison to Strategy’s playbook is obvious: Sunday chart post, Monday purchase disclosure, repeat. Cole even framed Strive and similar treasury companies as allies rather than rivals — which is a polite way of saying the whole corporate-Bitcoin club is getting crowded.
Big picture: if Strive does add more BTC, the stock becomes an even purer bet on crypto’s next move. That can be exciting, but it also means the ride gets bumpier fast.
