Back in the crypto saddle
Genius Group is doing the thing it said it would do: buying Bitcoin again. The company said it picked up 10 BTC for roughly $854,000 at an average price of $85,364 per coin between October 2nd and October 5th, 2026.
That may not sound like a whale-sized purchase, but for a company pitching a $1.2 billion dual treasury capital plan, every coin is part of the story. The target is pretty wild on its face: $827 million in Bitcoin and $800 million in AI assets by FY2031. Translation: Genius Group wants to look less like a traditional education company and more like a hybrid crypto-plus-AI balance sheet experiment.
Why investors should care
Treasury moves can be a little like watching a celebrity suddenly become a DJ. Are they committed? Is this a phase? Here, the answer seems to be: committed. Restarting purchases after a pause suggests management is serious about building the Bitcoin side of the plan, and that can matter for sentiment, especially in a stock that tends to trade on big narrative swings.
The flip side: Bitcoin exposure can add juice on the way up and whiplash on the way down. So if you own GNS, you’re not just betting on education software or AI hype anymore — you’re also signing up for a much more volatile crypto-stacked balance sheet.
Big picture
This is less “quiet corporate housekeeping” and more “we are fully in our Bitcoin era.” Whether the market rewards that depends on how much it likes the strategy versus how much it worries about the risk. Either way, Genius Group just put another brick in the treasury wall.
