India says hello to CoreWeave
CoreWeave is planting its flag in India, and not with a tiny souvenir sticker. The company says it plans to expand its AI cloud platform there through a collaboration with AdaniConneX, tapping 240 megawatts of data center capacity in Navi Mumbai.
Why this matters
If you’re trying to serve the AI boom, compute capacity is the new oil — except way more expensive and, annoyingly, it’s never enough. This move gives CoreWeave a fresh foothold in one of the world’s biggest tech markets, while also making it easier to work closer to customers and partners on the ground.
The company also says it will:
- establish an office in India
- hire locally
- build out an on-the-ground presence for customers and partners
Big picture
This isn’t just a map pin. It’s CoreWeave showing it wants to be a global AI infrastructure player, not just a U.S. hyperscaler sidekick. For investors, the question is simple: can the company keep turning that ravenous AI demand into durable growth without tripping over the capital intensity of all this expansion?
