A combo meal for the biopharma buffet
Eli Lilly is back with more fuel for the Taltz + Zepbound story. The company said exploratory data from the TOGETHER-PsO Phase 3b study showed broader biomarker changes with the two-drug combo than with Taltz alone, and those shifts showed up as early as week 12. In other words: the science is trying to convince you this is more than a clever cocktail napkin idea.
Why investors should care
The study looked at adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis plus obesity or overweight and at least one other weight-related comorbidity. That matters because Lilly is increasingly selling a bigger narrative: not just one blockbuster drug, but a whole little universe of immune, metabolic, and obesity therapies that can reinforce each other.
- Taltz is Lilly's psoriasis and inflammatory disease workhorse.
- Zepbound is one of the company's hottest obesity assets.
- Put them together, and Lilly is exploring whether the combo can deepen the biological effect beyond what each drug does on its own.
Big picture
This is still exploratory data, so nobody is handing out gold medals yet. But for a company already swimming in investor attention around obesity meds, every extra clinical readout is another chance to make the moat look a little wider. Big picture: Lilly isn't just trying to sell a drug — it's trying to sell a whole ecosystem.
