The earnings call wasn’t the whole story
CleanSpark’s Q3 2026 results looked pretty standard on the surface: revenue rose 1% to $138 million, and the company logged a hefty GAAP net loss of $240 million thanks in part to mark-to-market pain on bitcoin holdings. In other words, the usual crypto-company cocktail: some growth, some volatility, and a dash of accounting drama.
The real headline: a 20-year lease with giant numbers attached
The bigger news came just after quarter-end. CleanSpark said it signed a 20-year triple-net lease at its Sandersville, Georgia campus with a leading global technology company. Management says the deal could generate $6.6 billion in contracted revenue, and that number could climb to $11.6 billion if two five-year extensions kick in.
That’s not pocket change. And because it’s triple-net, CleanSpark is aiming for near-100% net operating income margins, which is corporate-speak for: “we’d very much like this to print cash.”
From Bitcoin miner to power-platform landlord?
The company is leaning hard into a bigger identity shift here. It’s still keeping the Bitcoin mining business around — partly for flexibility, partly because selling the cows would be rude — but the long-term pitch is now digital infrastructure, AI data centers, and monetizing power at scale.
Management also said it added 885 megawatts of commercial growth and has a partnership with a vertically integrated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing manufacturer/design builder. Translation: the company isn’t just talking about expansion; it’s lining up the plumbing, wiring, and concrete to do it.
Why investors should care
This is the kind of update that can change the market’s imagination. CleanSpark is no longer just a leveraged Bitcoin mining story; it’s trying to sell itself as a land-and-power platform with AI upside. If execution holds, the revenue profile could become a lot less lumpy. If not, well, the crypto side still brings enough volatility to keep everyone humble.
Big picture: CleanSpark’s earnings were fine, but the lease deal is what could really move the needle from “miner” to “infra play.”
