Freshworks wants a bigger slice of IT
Freshworks says it has agreed to buy Torii, a software management platform, to beef up Freshservice. Translation: the company wants Freshservice to do more than just handle tickets and support requests — it wants to become the place where IT teams manage software and keep an eye on AI spend.
Why this matters
If you’re an investor, this is the classic software-company move of “we’re not just a point solution anymore, we’re the platform now.” That can be a good thing if it boosts stickiness, upsells, and average revenue per customer. It can also be a bit of a scavenger hunt if integration goes sideways.
The strategic angle
Torii gives Freshworks a cleaner path into software management, which is becoming more valuable as companies juggle sprawling app stacks and rising AI costs.
- more functionality inside Freshservice
- a better shot at higher enterprise spending
- a way to pitch cost control in an AI-crazed world
Big picture: Freshworks is trying to make Freshservice feel less like a single product and more like the control center for modern IT.
